PLAYFUL New Finnish Design exhibition presents Finnish innovations, which focus on play and creativity as a resource.
In PLAYFUL, curator Esa Vesmanen presents current and future Finnish design and its possibilities to solve environmental problems. The impressive exhibition architecture was set up in the busy Meatpacking area of New York where eight marine containers took over the Gansevoort Plaza and the streets around it.

The PLAYFUL – New Finnish Design exhibition in New York in 2009 presented fresh products from Finnish designers and design companies during the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. Esa Vesmanen’s curatorial theme promoted how through a playful approach, creative solutions can be found even when faced with the most difficult challenges. The exhibition architecture was set up in eight shipping containers in the Meatpacking District’s Gansevoort Plaza and the surrounding area.
