Cloud sofa

The Pilvi Sofa by Esa Vesmanen & Taishi Watanabe. was commissioned by Watanabe and manufactured by Fasettidesign:n in Finland. Watanabe requested a custom-designed sofa to furnish his unconventional Tokyo house — an angular sculpture constructed of steel and stone for living.

The cloud form introduces a soft, tactile and grounding layer, inspired by nature. While the sofa may initially seem like an antidote to the architecture, both poetically encourage curiosity and discovery. And like the house, the sofa is designed to be appreciated from various perspectives. Classic in its use of materials - oak wood and wool - and contemporary in its form, the result is a sofa you will want to experience for a long time. First view at Habitare fair 2024.
